We believe students best grow in faith when parents and the church work together to walk beside students on their journey of faith. Discipleship and growth happens not only in the church but also in the home.
While there isn’t a biblical correlation between the Sermon on the Mount and Jesus’ final words from the cross, seeing these events together as “bookends” of Jesus’ life and ministry while he lived among humanity, offers those gathered a fresh perspective on how followers of Jesus are to be a model of his life for the purpose of fulfilling his ministry.
The hope of this study is that it will foster a conversation around modeling the life of Jesus that leads attendees to a deeper faith, a real and personal relationship with God, and in their “living” others would be invited to come and see—come and experience God’s divine love and grace as they encounter the risen Christ for themselves.
I want to welcome you to Rayville United Methodist Church. Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself and my family. I grew up in New Orleans, LA where I attended Holy Cross High School. I earned degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University and from University of New Orleans. I’ve been married to my lovely wife for 37 years. Our children, two daughters and a surrogate son, are grown and married. We now have six grandchildren. After a career of 34 years, I answered the call to ministry, attending Candler School of Theology, Emory University where I completed a five-year Course-of-Study program. I enjoy watching baseball at every level, am an avid LSU fan, and thoroughly enjoy playing golf whenever possible.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself. Please feel free to contact me should you wish to know more about Rayville United Methodist Church and the ministries we offer.
